Quarantine in recovery. With the current changes in the world, we are all in some kind of quarantine and self-isolation situation. But how this affects mental health and recovery from an eating disorder?

  1. A LOT OF TIME

Now it is finally time to do whatever you wanted not to stick with your old ED habits and lose yourself completely. Make a positive habit and learn something new, spent time with your loved ones. Use this time to make up for all these years you lost because of your ED.

2.DONT RESTRICT

Have regular meals, don't limit yourself. Use this time to recover physically and get your period back. If you restrict you will only crave that food more and more and you will binge at the end. You deserve your favorite dessert and day off everything.

3.RELAX

ED is really exhausting, dealing with bad habits, thoughts, exercise...

Take a fu**** brake for the first time, watch Netflix the whole day, you deserve a break.

4.LEARN TO LIKE YOURSELF

You don't have to love yourself but at least respect yourself and your body that is capable to carry you around. Respect your ideas and creativity.  Try to spend some time meditating, looking at baby pictures of yourself, taking a bath, brushing your hair. Think about your future without ED and push yourself every day. Sit in front of the mirror and for 2 minutes say everything you like about yourself.

5.SPEND TIME WITH FAMILY

Now is time to make up for all these lost years and memories. Watch a movie with your mom and talk about some random shit, paint nails with sisters, play memory cards with brother, and talk to your dad. Make the most of this time with them.
