It can be mental or physical. It’s a fixation on food that could be related to both of the above. Or it can grow out of dieting – thinking we shouldn’t eat certain foods that we desperately want. Btw, it can also be physical – when we’re hungry, we can’t think of anything else but food!

1. YOU ARE HUNGRY

It is obvious that you are starving and not satisfied. Your body is using mental signals because you don't have enough energy for real stomach hunger.

2.ALLOW YOURSELF

Allow yourself that piece of chocolate because if you just restrict that meal more and more it becomes a big fear and craving. And when the opportunity for that meal comes you can't stop, because you miss it. Let yourself have that cookie, bakery goods because why not, aren't you sick and tired of starvation?

3. AFFIRMATION

You have control over your thoughts. Your thoughts won't become a reality unless you make them as an action. You have control and every time you hear your brain thinking about food and giving you food signal repeat to yourself

-I have control over my thoughts and I decide to eat that thought!

Let yourself free and allow yourself freedom by repeating affirmation every time you feel like giving up.

4. HYDRATE

Drink a glass of water, tea or coffee. Sometimes you aren't hungry you just need some water in your body. Don't forget to drink water.

5. GET YOUR MIND OUT OF DISORDER

Sometimes I am so obsessed with my next snack or meal that the idea of getting up and motivated renders me unable to move. I'm so obsessed with my next meal that I get an anxiety attack. Yoga helps me at that moment, I let my breath move my body, painting, writing and taking a shower is just a small thing I like to do to relax when my thoughts are bad.

6.EAT

In recovery is important to welcome every signal, and because your body doesn't have hunger signals anymore, you need to relate to this small light. More you react on your cravings, less craving you will have and less scary it will be.

7.FOCUS ON OTHER THINGS

There is so much in this life to do than thinking about food 24/7. Arent you sick enough of the same food voice, allow yourself that and let go, go and do something creative and different. Focus on how you can improve and make the most of this life!!
